Lately everyone in the design community has been force fed the word “GREEN”.
And we don’t mean the color. Greenwash has taken over and we, like most are overwhelmed and confused. Of course as human beings, we care about the environment.
We want a healthy world to work, live and play in now and in the future. But we refuse to be insulted by the college students who walk the streets asking if we have time for the environment, when they should really be asking do we have time for them. And frankly, we don’t. It is difficult to decipher what is fact and what is not. There are thousands of articles being published. Seminar after seminar. And rep after rep “educating” us on their companies stance on sustainability.
But here’s the question at hand.
How many professionals out there are being asked by their clients for a “Green” design?
Are they looking for LEED certification or are they looking for the best solution for their projects? Is cost a factor?
ContractCoup wants to know. If we know the questions you’re being asked, then we know what content to include in our blog.
We hope to hear from you all soon.
Did you get your coup today?

I’m a representive, based in the city. I recently called on a mid size firm and met with one of the principles there. Trained by my company to ask the question you just discussed,I asked it, and his very honest answer was that he was concerned at all. It took me a moment to rethink my presentation. But it taught me a valuable lesson. We as reps need to listen to our clients as they are listening to theirs. This architect told me an interesting story about how he took some clients out to look at furniture. Every showroom lead their presentation with their green stance, even though he clearly said they weren’t concerned. So the question still goes back to education. But who should we all go to answer these questions? I’d love to know, so I never get caught off guard again.
